Timeless Awareness And Timeless Being
Heidegger the great Phenomenological Ontologist of the 21 century and Longchenpa the great Dzogchen Master of the 14 century both articulated phenomenologically and ontologically our Non Conceptual Living Experience of Being and our Direct Non Conceptual Knowing of our Primordial State of Living Being and Beingfullness. Our Being Knows Being and Our Being knows the Living Being of a being. Yes Being is Alive.
Both Heidegger and Longchenpa elaborated the Natural Phenomenology of Gnosis and Gnosis is our Direct Experiential Non conceptual Knowing of Being.
Gnosis is our Direct Non Conceptual Non Representational Experiential Ontological Knowing of Being. Both Heidegger and Longchenpa elaborated the profound and liberating experience of our entering into our Ontological Field of Timeless Awareness and our Ontological Natural experience of the Self Liberating Union of Timeless Awareness in Time.
To be able to be within Ontological Timeless Awareness and Simultaneously integrate our contemporary experience of Time within Timeless Awareness is the Natural Existential Timeless Doorway of Personal Self Liberation. This foundational ontological understanding of Self liberation is found both in ancient Dzogchen as taught by Longchenpa and in Contemporary Existential Ontological Phenomenology as taught by Heidegger. To experience and live within this ontological Beingful Field of Timeless Awareness is to experience the Ground of Being which is Our Ground of Being and is to experience Source as our own Innermost field of Timeless Awareness. Our Innermost Timeless Awareness is The Ground of Being and is Our Innermost Source, Ontological Source. To become Awareness of Our inner field of Awareness is to become Aware of Living Source and to become Aware of our power of Self Manifestation of Being.
This experience is the opening experience of our inner Self Liberation and our inner Power of our own Self Manifestation of Being.
In this Naturalistic ontological understanding of Self Liberation unfolding through our personal experience of Being in and as Timeless Awareness and in experiencing Timeless Awareness In Time. To be in Timeless Awareness and simultaneously integrate our Mind into and within our Timeless Awareness is articulated by both of these great masters of Beingfull Consciousness as Beingfull Liberation or Ontological Self Liberation. Both Heidegger and Longchenpa elaborate the 4 Dimensions of Time as the Ontological Context of our unfolding of Self Liberation As Pure Being, and of Pure Beingfullness.
The Four Times are our Past dimension of Time , our Present dimension of Time , our Future dimension of Time . The Fourth Dimension of Time is Timeless Awareness. Timeless Awareness is the Ontological Dimension of Timeless Being. To be able to enter into and experience our Ontological Dimension of the Infinity of the Endless Vastness of Timeless Being which is Timeless Awareness and to integrate Ordinary Time into Timeless Awareness brings fouth our Timeless experience of and as the Ground of Being. Our Timeless experience as Source. This Timeless Experience is profoundly self-liberating. This Timeless Experience is our endless Infinity metabolizing our Living Experience of phenomenological Being and Beingfullness.
Timeless Awareness is our experience of our Primordial Ontological Consciousness manifesting Time as Time Bound Consciousness. Timeless Awareness liberates our Time Bound Consciousness of Mind and as Mind. In time Longchenpa describes how our mind disappears and the functions of our mind are absorbed by Our Being and Our Beingfullness.
Both Heidegger and Longchenpa taught this self-liberating Experience of our Primordial Non Conceptual Knowingness as Timeless Ontological Primordial Awareness . This Ontological Knowingness of Being is the experiencing our Field of Being as Primordial Timeless Awareness As Source and as endless Gound of Being.
This Ontological Direct Knowing of Being is called Gnosis, Yeshe, Jnana. This Ontological Knowingness in Dzogchen is also called Semde. Sems is the representational knowing of our mind knowing phenomena and Semde is the ontological awareness of our Being directly non conceptually knowing Being and the Beingfullness of Being and the Beingfullness of Phenomena.
When we are only in our mind we will experience phenomena but the phenomena will feel Beingless and actually meaninglessness. When do not have the union of awareness knowing Being and our mind knowing phenomena , we may experience phenomena as Beingless and as Meaningless and as Emptiness and as Lifeless.
There are Two Kinds of Awareness
There is Psychological Awareness and There is Ontological Awareness! Our Psychologicsl Awareness is our awareness as and of our mind. And there is also Ontological Awareness or Primordial Awareness. Ontological Awareness or Primordial is our Ontological Knowing Of Being and our Direct Non Conceptual Knowing of the Being of beings. This Ontological Knowing of Being, is actually our Being As Primordial Ground Awareness Knowing Being and the Being of beings and the Being of phenomena.
There Are Two Different Kinds Of Knowing As There Are Two Different Kinds of Awareness. There is Psychological Awareness and there is Ontological Awareness!
There is our Mind Knowing of Awareness as Psychological Awareness .This Mind Awareness is our Psychological Mind of Psychological Awareness of Phenomena. I know this dog, I am aware of this dog. I know my hand, I am aware of my hand. I know my feelings, I am aware of my feelings. And there is Ontological Awareness which is My Being knowing Being and knowing the Being of phenomena and the Being of beintgs.
There are two different kinds of Knowing. There is Our Psychological Awareness knowing Phenomena. There is Ontological Awareness knowing Being and Knowing the Being of Phenomena. There is this Important and Vast difference between these two ways of knowing, these two forms of awareness. Our Ontological awareness knows Being and the Being of phenomenal. Our psychological Mind Awareness knows phenomena of our mind and the phenomena of our world.
TWO KNOWINGS
There is Psychological Representational Knowing of our mind and there Is the Ontological Beingfull Non Conceptual Direct Knowing of our Primordial Beingfull Awareness knowing Being and the Being of beings.

There is Psychological Consciousness and there is Ontological Consciousness.There is our mind of Conceptual Knowing knowing phenomena and there is our Awareness field of Direct Non Conceptual knowing of Being and knowing Being within beings
There is our Psychological Awareness of our Mind. Such as I am aware of this and I am aware of That. This is our psychological or our conceptual or our representational knowningness of our psychological Mind and reflects our psychological experience of phenomena. My knowingness of mind is profoundly psychological, and is the psychology of thinking and feeling , the psychology of memory, the psychology of affective states and the psychology of realistic experience and psychology of imaginal experience. This is the personal psychology of love and hate of fear and terror.
And Then There is our Ontological Awareness Knowing of My Being Knowing Being and my knowing the Being of beings. There is again this Psychological Knowing of phenomena and There is again our Ontological Knowing of Being and the Being of Phenomena and the Being of beings. As Heidegger would say My mind knows metaphysics and my Ontological Awareness experience Being and the Nature of Being. The mind knowing knows finiteness and the awareness knowing is knowing infinity and endlessness.
Confusion and The Two Forms of Awareness
The confusion around the “two forms of awareness ” is profoundly confusing for most people. This confusion hides the Natural path of self-liberation. Self Liberation is in the natural embodied realm of Immanence and not the Grandiose drama of Transcendental Consciousness and the Grandiosity of the Patriarchal Drama of illusional Omnipotence and delusional Omniscence and as the results of Self liberation which is ultimately self liberation through disappearance. There is no whoness and there is no self and there actually is no one there. Sad and epistemologically weak and fragmented. Ma Rigpa!
There are two ways of Knowing and there are two ways of Experiencing. There is Psychological Experiential Awareness of our Mind knowing phenomena and there is the Ontological Experiential Knowing of our Ontological experience and our Ontological Awareness of Being. This Awareness of Being is actuality, Realistic actuality.
Thus is our Primordial Awareness of our Being knowing Being. Thus our lived experience of Being is actually experiencing Being both as the Being of our Beingfull Awareness as our Ontological Beingfull Self. And we can experience Being of other Beings as self, Self and Our Being are intimately In Oneness. This experience of the field of Being is our experience of the field of ontological Consciousness, our ontological Field of the infinity of Awareness and the Infinity of Being and Beingfullness both as Timelesss Awareness and as Timelessness inf Time.
This is our Primordial Awareness as our Consciousness Knowing Consciousnes and our experiential knowing that Consciousness is our Being knowing Being and our Being is Consciousness knowing Conscious as the Infinity of Being and beings.
There is our esoteric non-causal dimension of our experience. Our Exoteric psychology of mind does not directly experience Being just as our Esoteric Ontological Consciousness does experience Esoteric Being and the profound Immanence of the Being of Phenomena and the Immanence of Pure Being of beings. In esoteric there is only ONE BEING.
Consciousness is the language of manifestation and our mind is the language of concretized causality of the binary language of cause and effect as well as right and wrong and good and evil and better and best and even truth and falsity. Our Mind is Exoteric and Our Consciousness is Esoteric. This is really useful to know and this understanding will prevent endless confusion. These two ways of Knowing can be profoundly confused and confusing but need not be at all.
Primordial Awareness as our Ontological Awareness is our direct ontological state of Being and Beingfull Knowing . Our Awareness State Directly knows Being and directly and non-conceptually Knows the Being and the Being of phenomena. This Knowing of Primordial Awareness is Ontological Knowing. Primordial Awareness is Consciousness vast and Multidimensional. Primordial Awareness is Ontological Awareness as Ontological Knowing of Being knowing Being. Primordial Awareness is Consciousness. Primordial Awareness is Pure Being and Pure Beingfullness Knowing Pure Being of beings and the Pure Beingfullness of beings.
Our psychological awareness knows our psychological process and the psychological process of others . To know the psychological process of another is to know the mind of the other. We can even know the Group Mind of others .
Our Two Dimensions of Knowing
There are Two essential Different Dimensions of Knowing. There is the mind dimension of our Psychological Knowing as Awareness that Psychologically as Awareness knows Phenomena. This Awareness is our Psychological Awareness and this is the Awareness of our Psycholological Mind. This Personal Awareness can focus on our lived experience of phenomena. In Tibetan this mind knowing and this knowing of mind is called sems. Then there is this Direct Ontologial knowing of Being which is called Semde. Western phenomenology under Husserl studied this form of psychological knowingness knowing phenomena. Heidegger in his phenomenology studied Being and studied the Being and Beingfullness of Phenomena. His form of phenomenology was a phenomenological ontology. He study brought forth an ontic ontological understanding of human beings. Dzogchen is an ontic ontological understanding of human beings. We are psychological and we are ontological. We have a psychological understanding of experience and we have an ontological understanding of experience.
This Psychological Knowing of phenomena is the knowing of our psychological mind knowing phenomena. Our psychological knowing of our psychological mind is our psychological knowing of phenomena. .This Psychological knowing of Psychological Awareness of our mind is profoundly different than our Ontological Knowing as and of Awareness Knowing Being.
Heideggers phenomenology shifted from the Husserl Ontic phenomenological knowing of phenomena to the Ontological knowing of the Being of Phenomena and the phenomena of Being. This Turning was of profound significance wherein there was now Phenomenological Ontic Ontological Philosophical Method. Dzogchen actualy embodies a ontic ontological philosophical method.
This knowing of Being is our Ontological Awareness as Being knowing the Being of beings. Our mind, our psychological mind is our psychological realistic knowing of phenomena. Our mind can not know directly or experientially the Being of Phenomena. Our Beingfull Awareness knows the Being of Phenomena and Knows Being and even the Infinity of Being and Beingfullness. Our Beingfull Awareness is the opening of Timeless Awareness and Timeless Being.
Our mind knows psychologically and our mind knows the actuality of phenomena Our mind is an embodied mind and not a Transcendental Mind. Transcendental Mind is not embodied. Transcendental Mind is disembodied. Transcendental mind Transcends embodiment, transcends ontological awareness and transcends psychological awareness. Transcendental mind transcends our sense of embodied self , and transcends sense of embodied awareness. And transcends our sense of Embodied Being . Transcendental awareness is disembodied knowing and disembodied experience.
Transcendental awareness transcends embodied Being and embodied beingfullness, Transcendental mind transcends phenomena and transcends our knowingnesss of phenomena. Transcendental Awareness is a dissociative and disembodied experience. Transcendental Awareness is a function of detachment, dissociation and disembodiment. Transcendental Consciousness is the Knowing of Nothingness and the Knowing of Absence , Eternal Absence. Transcendental Consciousness is Beingless.
Transcendental Consciousness is Beingless and Emptiness, the Emptiness of Being and Beingfullness. Transcendental Phenomena is Void and Dissappearance , the disappearance of everything and every one, Transcendental Phenomena is Beingless. Transcendental Phenomena is a perceptual distortion of the actuality of Being and the Being of Phenomena.
Heidegger also called our Human Conscious Knowing of Being Da Sein. This knowing was not the knowing of our thinking thinking mind. The translation is like Being There and Knowing There. Padmashambhava makes fun of our thinking thinking thinking attempt at knowing mentalistially the field of Being. Herbert Guenthers book on Padmashambhava is also a direct preparation for understanding the work of Longechenpa. This Beingfull Ontological Awareness knowing Timeless Being that is beyond our mind.
Our psychological mind is psychologically mentalistic and manifest representationally ideation and emotionally affectation. Our psychological mind is our reflection and internalization of events and internalization of historical experience, Our mind has both internalizations of experience and memory of experience. Our mind ‘s awareness is a focusing on phenomena and our lived experience of phenomena.
If you and I are NOT able to experience the profound difference between our psychological knowing of mind and our ontological knowing as Beingfull Awareness knowing Being , then we may not be able to actually enter the door of Dzogchen into the Ontological Field of Knowing Being as Being.
The Felt Sense of Knowing
If we do not know experientially the difference between sems and semde , awareness as mind knowing phenomena and awareness as Being Knowing Being , we may not be able to enter the door of Dzogchen. Entering the door of Dzogchen requires experientially knowing this distinction of the felt sense of phenomena and the felt sense of Being of phenomena. To confuse this felt sense of phenomena and the felt sense of the Being of the phenomena is to confuse the natural path of self-liberation.
As Padmashambhava declares Most people confuse thinking thinking thinking with awareness, and they confuse ontological knowing with psychological knowing. They confuse the process of conceptual ideational thinking with Ontological Direct Non Conceptual Knowing. Thinking is not ontological knowing. Thinking is not direct knowing. Thinking thinking is mentalistic experience and mentalistic knowing. Conceptual knowing is not ontological knowing. Representational Knowing is not our Direct Knowing of Being and Beingfullness.
Only direct knowing of awareness teaches direct knowing of Being. That is why Dzogchen is a form of guru yoga. Guru Yoga is a form of our self revelation of Being revealing Being. Without transmission of the experience of knowing Being from one person to another, from a mother to a baby, from one person transmitting to another person is most unlikely that you will try to think yourself into awareness or think yourself into Being.
As Garbe Dorge say Get a Transmission, Practice and Have no doubt. This transmission is natural , Within awareness we have the power of the Transmission Of Being and the Energy of Being.
Of course as Donald Winnicott the great ontological phenomenological psychoanalyst elaborates our first transmission of Beingfull Awareness Consciousness is from our mother. Our mother transmits Being to us both in utero and through our infant life and even later. In truth your mother is your first Guru. Our Mother is our first Guru. Our Mother is the Transmission of Her Being into Our Being. Our mother brings forth the gift of Being and Beingfullness within us.
Padmashambha makes fun of thinking thinking and judgment judgment and judging. This Judgement becomes a fact. Dzogchen is not a function of judgment. Judgment is mental and conceptual. Discrimination is perception of a knowing not of mind but of direct knowing of primordial non conceptual awareness. Experience teaches experience, Our experience of Being is our Being Knowing Being.
There are two different meanings to the word Awareness.The word awareness in Tibetan means sems and this awareness is our awareness of mind knowing phenomena. This awareness is of the mind of phenomena knowing phenomena and the psychology of phenomena.
And then there is awareness as Semde which is our Being knowing Being as Awareness knowing Being. Our Being as Awareness Knows Being and the Awareness as Being is Consciousness as Being. Yes Being is Consciousness and Being as Being Knows Consciousness As Being. Yes Awareness is Being Knowing Being and Awareness is Consciousness knowing Consciousness as Being.
Yes Awarenesses Consciousness as Beingfullness knowing Awareness in a Being as Consciousness and as a personal Whoness. Yes Whoness is Consciousness as the personal Beingfull knowing of a person who is being and who is personal Beingfull Consciousness as Ontological Whoness.
This Ontological Knowing of Awareness of Beingfull Awareness is the continuation of our lived experience of our Primordial State of Being, and of our personal Being Knowing Being and our knowing as Personal Being.
Our ontological existential lived experience is how to ontologically experience ongoing continuity of Being in this field of Direct Beingfull Knowingness of Being and even Our Knowing the Being of beings including our own Being and our own Being of our being.
Mind Alone Is Mind Alone
We do not and can not know or experience Being with our mind alone. Our mind does not experientially know Being and the Beingness of beings. Our mind is informationally based. Heidegger would so often say when a person mind is intellectually knowing Being they are only knowing metaphysically or conceptually or representationally or mentallistically knowing Being.
Heideggers phenomenological ontological work was to experientialy know Being Non Conceptually and Directly Non Conseptually knowng the Being of beings. Language becomes a metaphorical or poetical experience of manifestation. Heideggerian Phenomenology and Dzogchen form of Phenomenological Ontology are very close. Both Knowings know Being and are the living experience of Being and Embodied Being. Both Knowings Know Being and Know Being through an as forms of Phenomena. Both Knowings Know Being as Consciousness and Consciousness as Being.
We also know phenomena with and through our representational mind. Our Primordial Field of Awareness is our Being Knowing Being. In Dzogchen this Direct Knowingness is Gnosis or Jnana. There are two forms of knowing both in Heidegger and in Longchenpa. There is the knowing of Phenomena with our minds (sems) and there is the Knowing of the phenomena of Being through our Being’s Primordial Direct Awareness or Gnosis or Jnana as Semde.
When we integrate our mind within our field of awareness and then we can know OUR BEING and through our Being we know the Being of Phenomena and the Phenomena of Being. Longchenpa and Heidegger were masters of this esoteric of Being Knowing Being. Both Longchenpa and Heidegger had the view of ontic ontological human Beings. Ontic is psychological and ontological is Being.
NOW THERE IS ANOTHER STEP : The Step of Entering TIMELESS AWARENESS!
This next step is entering into Timeless Awareness as Timeless Being and Timeless Beingfullness. In light of this entering into Timeless Awareness and remaining within Timeless Awareness we will enter into living in and within Timeless Being and Timeless Beingfullness. We will live within Timeless Awareness as Timeless Being and Beingfullness. Timeless Being is Infinity and Timeless Being is Deathless and Changeless. Timeless Awareness is The Ground of Being. Timeless Awareness is Our Ontological Opening , Timeless Awarreness is Our Ontological Openness as Source.
We can integrate the three times into Timeless Awareness as Timeless Being, We can integrate the Present Time into Timeless Awareness as Timeless Being and we can integrate the Past Dimension into Timeless Awareness as Timeless Being and we can integrate the Future Time Dimension into Timeless Awareness as Timeless Being.
We can easily experience the Infinity of Timeless Awareness and the Infinity of Timeless Being. Timeless Being is endless just as Timeless Awareness is Endless Infinity .This Timeless Awareness as Timeless Being has the power of the metabolization of experience both as Painfull and as Pleasurable. The Vastness of Timeless Awareness magnetizes the life force energy and metabolizes the energy both the from the beneficent and from the malignant. Timeless Awareness also dissolves and metabolizes the malignant energy that people experience and suffer,
This is a wondefull Step of Profoundly Deepening Our Ontological Knowingness of Being as Being as Pure Being and as Pure Source. Yes.. Our Ontological Awareness is Our Open Source of Self Manifestation, our Ontological Awareness is the Ground of Being. This is Longchenpa’s luminous understanding of Timeless Self Liberation. Yes Self Liberation is Timelessness.
Timeless Awareness and Timeless Being
This profound step of and within our lived experience of Timeless Awareness is Expressed both in the Phenomenological Ontology of Heidegger and In Phenomenological Ontology of Longchenpa. In our unfolding of our ontological Knowing of our Awareness of Being, we can go beyond our natural ontological awareness knowing of Being and we can enter into the profound Ontological Timeless Experience of Becoming Ontological Timeless Awareness and thus we can Non Conceptually directly experience our Timeless Awareness of and as Timeless Being. Our experience of Timeless Being is our Source of Self Liberation.
This profound experience of Timeless Being is a profound and amazing experience and is the Source of profoundly true Self liberation. This experience of Timeless Awareness as Timeless Being is relatively available and easy to experience and to Embody and to Become. This wonderful experience of self liberation is naturally easily available and doable JUST AS WE ARE. Self liberation is not a self improvement Drama,. Self Liberation self liberation just as you are now. Self Liberation is not the drama of earning endless merit or becoming liberated through Obedience Training like your dog Fido.
In our direct experience of our ontological knowing of Timeless Awareness we ontologically experience Timeless Awareness as Timeless Being. In Ontologically experiencing Timeless Being we are then and now open to experiencing Timeless Being as Source. As We experience Timeless Awareness we begin to experience Timeless Being of beings including our own being. We discover experientially that we are experiencing Timeless Being as the Very Ground of Being, we are experiencing the Groundless Being of Being as Source. And we are experiencing our Beingfull self manifestation as source. Our Timeless Awareness is our doorway into the Ground of Being as Ontological Source of our Self Manifestation of Being and Beingfullnes.
We can directly experience that we as our emerging self awareness is Source. This a profound form of self-liberation. We experience that we are the Ground of Being and we are the self manifestation of the Ground of Being. We are the profound openness of and as Source. We are in the Ground of Being as The Ground of Being which is infinite in its horizons and vast and multidimensional. As the Ground of Being we experience our awareness and our field of awareness as Source as Personal Ontological Source. We experience the ontological drama of self manifestation. As Dudjom Rinpoche would so often say take the power into your own hands and stop begging for help. Take your own self manifestation of your own Luminous Awareness Just As You Are.
This is Longchenpa Self manifestation of Primordial Timeless Beingfull Awareness. This is Heideggers self experience and self manifestation of Phenomenological Ontological Beingful Source of Being and as Timeless Source of Timeless Beingfullness .
Timeless Awareness is Timeless Being and Timeless Awareness is within our Direct Experientially Knowing of Timeless Being in which we can experience the Timeless Being of beings. We can directly experience Pure Being and the Infinity of Pure Being as us as the Open Source as Open Awareness infinite in its horizons vast and multidimensional.
This is the Wisdom Experience of our Gnosis of our Direct Non Conceptual Non Representational Beingful Knowingness knowing the Reality of Being and the Infinite Beingfullness of Reality. We experience our own Primordial Awareness as Luminous Source as we are the Ground of Being as Source, we are the endless infinity of Beingful Source.
This is Experiential Gnosis of the Innate field of our Beingfull Experience of Consciousness and Our Being as Consciousness. Gnosis is Consciousness Directly Knowing Consciousness and the Felt sense of the Infinity of Consciousness as the Infinity of Being and Beingfullness. Through our Direct Experiencing of Being we experience the Infinity of Timeless Awareness and the Infinity of our Timeless Being and the Infinity of Timeless Consciousness. This Timeless Experience is Deathlessness Awareness life after life and death after death.
The Experience of Infinity As the Natural Doorway of Self Liberation
We can Directly Experience the Infinity of Timeless Beingfull Awareness as Timeless Beingfull Consciousness . This experience of the Infinity of our Beingfull Awareness or the Infinity of our Beingfull Being allows us to experience the Being of our being and to experience our Direct Perception and Direct Knowingness of Being and even our knowing the PURE Being of the Beingfullness of Phenomena.
When we experience the Infinity of Timeless Awareness we can experience the Infinity of Being and we experience this Infinity of and as the Ground of Being as Source. We experience within us the Ground of Being as our Infinity of Primordial Awareness , and we experience the Infinity of the field of of awareness as source. Thus we are embodying the Ontological Youthfull power of Self Manifestation.
This Beingfull Knowing of Infinity is not going into the past time or going into the future time and this beingfull knowing is sustained when we do not let our self becoming captured by thoughts or by fantasies and by conceptualizations. We can stay in our authentic Beingfull condition and in this our real condition of our Being knowing Being and the Being of beings knowing our own being as the infinity of Being and the Ground of Being and Beings. We experience the unbound vastness of our own innermost awareness as source. This is self-liberation. And this is also the power of self-manifestation. This is the power of Potential Space. This is the infinite Power of Potential Space, Pure Potentiality of Pure Infinity.
This Primordial State of Beingful Knowingness is completely beyond our ideational mind and beyond our experience of past mind, and present mind and future mind.
Without letting our Beingfull Awareness as our as Beingfull self becoming organized and being oriented by our Representational Conceptualzations and Representational Affective states of mind, and neither our conceptualization of the past ,the present. and the future.
As Heidegger said human beings are Dasein and Dasein is the gift of our Being knowing Being and knowing the Being of the world and the Being of others directly and non conceptually, Human Dasein is our human awareness knowing Being and the Being of beings. Human Dasein is the Essence of Dzogchen the Natural Path of Self Liberation. Human Dasein is not the knowing of mind alone, Human Dasein is the ontological Openness of our Being knowing Being.
The Existential Struggle
This existential struggle of being in Being and not being located in mind alone is the path of Dzogchen and the path of Phenomenological Ontology. This is also the path of Kashmir Shavism. To continue to know the Being of Being and the Being of a being is self-liberation.
Dzogchen does not belong to any tradition, and neither does Dzogchen belong to any one culture and Dzogchen is our existential Real Condition and of course Dzogchen is Galactic and Cosmological. This is Namkai Norbu often repeated statement before giving talks. This is the Ontological Liberating Drama of the Infinity of of Self liberation.
So we can make one further step to sustain our Beingful self as our Beingfull Awareness as Being forever and ever in our Direct Knowing of Being and the Direct Knowing the Being of phenomena of beings who are Being and who are the manifestation of Pure Being.
We enter further and more further into our depth and breath of our Being as we enter into Timeless Awareness which is Timeless Being. To be in Pure Being which is to be In Timeless Being allows us to continuously experience the Being of beings, and allows us to Be in the Continuity of the Field of Beingfull Awareness. To be in the field of Beingfull Awareness in continuity is to Be Being in Timeless Awareness in time. To be in Timeless Awareness and to be in our awareness of Being as Being. is not the contained knowing of our psychological mind.
The knowing of mind is very limited and limiting and containing. Our mind is historically based information and reflection. Our mind is not ontological knowingness, our mind is psychological knowingness. Psychological is contained in mind as functions of mind. Thinking thinking and thinking is not knowing directly. You can think Being which is not the experience of Ontologically knowing Being, This is the most fundamental distinction both for Heidegger and for Longchenpa.
The Functions of Our Mind Being Absorbed by Timeless Consciousness
More over As Longchenpa understands and completely and clearly articulates that one day on a decisive day the functions of our mind can and will be Absorbed by Timeless Awareness and within Timeless Awareness as Timeless Awareness. This vast direct knowingness of Being and Beingfullness can skillfully know our mind task and mind problem solving.
This Longchenpa’s most amazing statement. This problem solving of awareness will be more or less direct and immediate problem solving without thinking thinking and more thinking. Awareness as Consciousness can subsume the power of The Knowing of our Mind. Gnosis becomes our own capacity.
As we continuously integrate our mind within Timeless Awareness and within the field of Timeless awareness Timeless Awareness dissolves and metabolizes the Reification of our Mind and dissolves the Reified functions of our mind and so these Consciousness functions are assumed by the infinity and power of Timeless Awareness, Timeless Consciousness. Our mind is very limited in problem solving and our Consciousness is our Direct Experiential Consciousness knowing and reflecting directly Infinity of Primordial Consciousness.
This Ontological Assumption of functions is most important to understand and to know experientially. Dzogchen is not a function of mind ,but Dzogchen is a function of Primordial Timeless Awareness , Primordial Timeless Being both beyond time and in time.
Our Primordial Timeless Awareness is the Infinity of Primordial Consciousness . Timeless Awareness is Primordial Consciousness As Timeless Ontological Infinity. This Timeless Awareness as Ontological Infinity is available to everyone as the very Nature of their personal Beingfull Timeless Awareness in Time.
To be in Timeless Awareness is to Be in Being, to be in the ongoing continuity of the Infinity of Being and Beingfull Awareness. Moreover to be in Timeless awareness is to be in Timeless Being. Timeless Being is Pure Potentiality. And to actually experience the Potential Space of Pure Being Pure Timeless Being is to feel the power of the Ground and Source of Being manifesting within us and through us. And to be in Timeless Being is to experience the Infinity of Being, the Infinity of Timeless awareness, the Infinity of Timeless Manifestation , life after life and death after death.
We are no longer located in Mind alone. To be in Timeless Awareness’ in time is to no longer be located in mind alone or to be in the History of our Mind Alone. To be in Pure Awareness is to Be In Pure Timeless Awareness and is not to be in Mind Alone. This is important to know. Your mind’s thinking is historically based and historical configurated from babyhood to present time. We are most often locked into the Containment of our Mind.
As Padmashambhava would so often make fun of thinking thinking thinking.Thinking like a thing. Yes thinking reifies experience and reifies understanding and reifies Being and the Beingfullnes of Being.
Self liberation is the human Being living not in mind alone but rather living in Timeless Being and Timeless Beingfull Consciousness. Consciousness is vast and infinite in its horizons and multidimensional.
A Way of remaining in Being is to remain in the Direct Experiential Knowing of Being through Timeless Awareness and within Timeless Awareness. We can integrate our mind into our Cosmological Knowing as the Gnosis of Primordial Awareness and in so doing s we can experience phenomena and we can simultaneously experience the Vast Infinity of Being of the phenomena. When the vast infinity of Being of the phenomena is missing , we are in mind alone.
We can learn to carefully integrate our mind knowing phenomena. Often and at first we enter transitional space and we enter and remain deeply into Transitional Space which is Transitional Awareness and the Door of Primordial Awareness Opens and we are then embodied by Primordial Awareness and we are simultaneously embodying Primordial Awareness field infinite in is horizons vast and mulltidmensional.
We can enter from within Primordial Awareness and enter deeply into TIMELESS AWARENESS and then we can integrate Time into Timeless Awareness which is the Knowningness of Timeless Being. This moment is Now the Doorway into Self liberation.
In Timeless awareness as Timeless Being we experience the Infinite of Luminous Being in its Horizons. Thus through this power of infinity we can metabolize experience and metabolize Context thus freeing ourselves from contextualizatons that are situatioinal and historical and profoundly limiting. Thus we experience ontological self liberation free from contextualization and situationalism and the contextualization of personal and familial history.
Longchenpa goes further and says that on one decisive day you will dissolve your mind and the Functions of your mind will be absorbed and lived out through Primordial Awareness in its vastness and sublimeness and in its infinity of Being.
In a most serious way liberation is self liberation and is freeing our self of psychological mind and embodying the field of Being, the field Of Consciousness as Mind completely and forever. Gnosis is our direct knowing of Being as Being and frees our Binary Mind forever and ever.
A person can use mind and the concretized method of mind but actually the Direct knowing of Being and the Direct knowing of Phenomenological Being replaced the Conceptualization and Representational function of the mind . Many great Dzogchen masters and Shaivite master and Daoist master I have met did not have a mind. They were thought free consciousness openness that knows infinity and singularity simultaneously. Their speech was spontaneous without thought or thinking conceptually.
Of course I do not care if you understand this or not. If you think you are your mind alone , and if you really want to be your mind alone ,you may not be able to go further. So This may be a decisive moment. And actually it great to know that no one cares what you do.There is not great judge or a last judgement. This drama is up to us.
In a way in Dzogchen you are being asked and requested to artfully relocate your self , to relocate your Beingfull self from being contained in your mind alone and relocating into the field of pure Beingfull Awareness and thus ultimately you are the field of Timeless Awareness in Time.
To locate ourself in the Dimension of Timeless Awareness is to locate ourself in the Ground of Being, as our Source of self-manifestation. To speak you must speak not from you mind but now you speaking from and within Ground Awareness.To be the Ground of Being we can be in Timeleess Awareness. We can be in Timeless Awareness and in Time Simultaneously. This is self-liberation.
We are Timeless Awareness and in Timeless Being and Timeless Awareness as Timeless Source and we are the self-manifestation of Source manifesting our own Being in the world. This experience of Timeless Awareness as Timeless Source is vast and infinite in its horizons and multidimensional. To be in and to be as Timeless Awareness’ in time is to be our source of self manifestation and power. We are The self manifestation of Being and the power of Beingfull self manifestation.. We are the Creative power of Being and the Destructive power of Being.
Many of Dzogchen praxis are manifestations of Timeless Awareness and this Timeless potentiality. This Space of Potential. This experience of Timeless Awareness in Time is the source of power and self manifestation of Being and Beingfullness in this world. Without Entering the Potential Space of Awareness by being in mind alone nothing will take place. The power of Transmission is the power of Potential Space becoming activated and manifested by Pure Desire. Desire is Source.
Most importantly as we enter and remain in Timeless Awareness in Time we experience the vast infiniteness’ of Timelessness in Time. The Infinity and the power of Timeless awareness empowers us to experience Self liberation.
Timeless Infinity frees us from the constellation of Context and Situationalism. Timeless awareness is infinite in its horizons vast and multidmension. A person not only experience Timelessness but the power of direct knowing and the freedom of self-manifestation as self-liberation. The power of awareness is also the power of metabolization and thus metabolizes negative states and destructive states of mind.Timeless Awareness is the oceanic source of self action self liberation and self manifestion of Beatific states of luminous experience. The unbound sense of infinity and corresponding Deathless Awareness frees us to become completely free of annihilation anxiety and freedom of the fear of death.
Dzogchen in its pure manifestation primordial awareness is mindless and thinkingless, and is the non thingness of Being and experience. In pure manifestation of primordial Beingfull awareness the reification of mind and the functions of the mind is metabolized and disovled. Thinking thinking and thinking is simply repetitioin ,endless repetitions of mind ideation.
Knowing and thinking are not the same. Knowing is ultimately non conceptual and direct luminous experience. The artiucaltion of the experience is not the same as thinking thinking obsessional mentalistic thinking. Ideation and the manifestation of ideation is actually a thought free activity. Thinking thinking is neither understanding or direct knowing. In thinking thinking thinking you are depending on your mind to create a event of direct knowing. The mind can not do that and so thinks and thinks and thinks and thinks.This is Padmashambhava understanding.
Both later Heidegger and Longchenpa are continuous and similar in understanding. A person who actually understands Heidegger is Richard Comapcino. He was profound influences by the Jesuits philosopher father Richardson who was not only an expert in Heidegger but in the symbolic psychoanalyst Jacque Lacan. The understanding of the mutuality o f Dzogchen and Phenomeological Ontology will come from the west and not from the east.
The East is endlessly patriarchal and endlessly Myoptic in their presentation of phenomenological ontological Dzogchen. Many equate self liberation with Obedience. Self Liberation is kind of good dog bad dog trauma. Dzoghcen is its own invention and inventiveness that does not belong to any tradition or any religion or culture.
Namkai Norbu would always before each lecture say the following:
Dzogchen does not belong to any Tradition, Dzogchen does not belong to any culture and Dzogchen is our real condition . Dzogchen is galactic. Galatic is Cosmological. Awareness which is Cosmological Infinity.
I would like mention the Work of Zhihua Yao who wrote the wonderful paper Four Dimensional Time In Dzogchen and Heidegger in 2007 and was published in Philosophy East and West Vol 57,issue 4. His paper is a nuanceful discussion of the Four -dimensional Time in Heidegger and Longchenpa. Another excellent paper was published in 2015 by Cezary Wozniak and published in the Polish Journal of the Arts and Culture. Nr 16(4/2015). This paper also presents a subtle discussion of Four Dimensional Time in Heidegger and Dzogchen. The Title is Exploring the Nature of Time, Reflections on the article Four Dimensional Time in Dzogchen and Heidegger by Zhinhua Yao.
