Instinctive Experience, Ego State Experience, and the Unfolding of Ontological Awareness

Experiential Understanding the Nature of Being
In the 8th Ce the foundational Tantric Dzogchen text The All-Creative Source came into Being. The All-Creative Source was a foundational text reflecting the Dzogchen Phenomenological and Ontological understanding of the Nature of Being as Primordial Being-full Awareness. This Primordial Awareness is ontologically Primordial Consciousness.
Our direct knowing of the experience of Being as Primordial Ontological Consciousness is the Dzogchen Natural Path of Embodied Self -Liberation. This direct knowing is non conceptual and experiential. This direct knowing is called Jnana or Gnosis or even Yeshe which means Wisdom. This direct non conceptual experiential knowing manifests as the felt sense of Being and the felt sense of the Being-fullness of Phenomena.
Personal
Our experience of Primordial Awareness as Primordial Being and Being-fullness is profoundly personal. Our experience of primordial awareness is simultaneously our experience of our own innermost Ontological Who-ness and this Being-full Who-ness is our Who-ness of Pure Consciousness and as our Pure Consciousness. This Who-ness of, and as our Pure Consciousness is infinite in its horizons, vast and multidimensional. This dramatic understanding of Being and the Being-fullness of Being as the source of the Being of beings is Longchenpa’s wonderous description of self- liberation within the context of Phenomenological Dzogchen.
Again, I use the word Phenomenological Dzogchen since Phenomenology and Dzogchen focus and articulate the experience of the “lived experience” of human beings. They also focus on the experience of phenomena and the lived experience of the Being-fullness of phenomena simultaneously.
Longchenpa was the great 14th century Master of Phenomenological Dzogchen. Again, the word Phenomenological describes Dzogchen as an experiential understanding that focuses on our “lived experience” of Being-full Awareness. Often this Being-full Awareness is called Primordial Awareness. This focus on the lived experience of Primordial Awareness and the Being-fullness of Awareness radically and foundationally challenges traditional Transcendental Idealistic Buddhism. The Tantra of Dzogchen goes beyond the Transcendental Meditation experience and invokes the Sublime Embodied Meditation of Immanence, infinite in its horizons, vast and multidimensional.
Non- Dual Experience Within Dualism of Phenomena
Immanence brings forth Nondualist Experience within the Dualism of Phenomena. Immanence is the direct knowing of Being and Being-fullness through our lived experience of the Dualistic Phenomena within the unfolding events of the manifestation of Non Dualistic Being and Being-fullness.
Ontological Who-ness As Being-full Awareness.
Our Being-full Awareness reflects our Ontological Who-ness. This ontological Who-ness is not the sense of I ness that reflects our identification with our mind. Most of us identify with the I ness of our mind alone. This ontic identification of I ness is a psychological identification and not our ontological experience of our own Innermost Non-Conceptual Experiential Knowingness of Being and Being-fullness. We are ontic ontological Beings. Our ontic identification is our identification as entity and as a form. Our ontological identification is our identification as the Formless Being-full Awareness of our Being as Being. As Heidegger describes Human Dasein is our human openness to our direct non conceptual knowing Being and our direct experiencing of Being and Being-fullness. Within awareness we experience the Beingness of Being and we can experience the Being-ness of beings and the Being-fullness of phenomena.
This luminous 8th century text the Supreme Source was and is an invocation to experience our natural ontological unbound spacious luminous non conceptual direct knowingness of Being within the ever- unfolding lived experience of the infinity of Primordial Ontological Awareness which is the infinity of Pure Being-fullness. This Pure Non- Conceptual Direct Experiential Knowingness takes place within our embodied form. Pure Being is Formless Consciousness. Formless Consciousness is our Being-full Who-ness which is our Being-full Direct Knowingness of Being.
This Direct Nonconceptual Pre-reflective Knowingness of Being is Jnana, or Gnosis or Yeshe. Yeshe means Wisdom. Wisdom is our experiential knowingness of Being within all phenomena and our experiential knowing of Being within all beings and our knowing of Being within the Being of our own Being.
The Important Distinction Between Awareness of Phenomena and Awareness of Being
In Tibetan there are two words for awareness and two distinct meanings of awareness. There is an awareness of the mind which is a kind of focused recognition of phenomena and the intuitive essence of phenomena. The Tibetan word for this knowing of mind is Sems. And there is the awareness of Being knowing Being and this ontological awareness that knows Being is called Semde. This is a most important distinction of and within the language of awareness to know both experientially, conceptually, and reflectively this path of self- liberation.
The word awareness has two radically different meanings and two radically different ways of knowing. There is awareness of mind as mind which is a kind of cognitive recognition and a cognitive focusing on a phenomenon. Awareness of Being is Being ‘s nonconceptual direct experiential knowing of Being and Being-fullness. Awareness is Being’s Knowing of Being. Being experiencing the Being of Being as self and Being’s experiencing the Being of another as their self. Our who-ness as self is ontological actuality. To experience self is to experience our ontological dimension of existing-ness. Experiencing the self of another is also to experience the ontological dimension of existence.
Donald Winnicott, the great English psychoanalyst who was greatly influenced by phenomenology was asked when does the baby have a continuous sense of self. His reply was when the Baby has an ongoing felt sense of the continuity of Being and Being-fullness. Winnicott illuminated the nature of ontological awareness as Transitional Space. He understood that without being transitional spacious awareness the foundational experience of the ongoing sense of embodied sense self could not take place.
Phenomenological Immanence
This expression of phenomenological ontological Immanence of primordial Awareness is also found in the The Kashmir Shavism of Swami Muktananda. This expression of Phenomenological Immanence is found in contemporary continental phenomenology as expressed by Michel Henry, Martin Buber, Maurice Merlau Ponty, Menard Boss, Eugene Gendlin, R,D.Lang, Michael Eigen, Rollo May, Hedwig Conrad Martius, Edith Stein and many other philosophical phenomenologist and existential phenomenological psychologist and Existential Psychoanalysis.
This phenomenological ontological Immanence of BEING informing the Being-fullness of beings is foundational in Contemporary Existential Phenomenology and In Existential Phenomenological Psychotherapy. This phenomenological ontological immanence is foundational in Philosophical Dzogchen and in Philosophical Kashmir Shavism and In Contemporary Phenomenological Meditation.
Contemporary Phenomenological Meditation
Contemporary Phenomenological Meditation is not located within the dissociative Transcendental Meditational Traditions. This Being-full embodied self-liberation is not liberation through Transcendence and dissociative detachment but self-liberation through our direct non conceptual experience of the Being full Immanence Of Being within our self and within all beings and as all beings including our own Being.
This self-liberation through Dzogchen is within Being-full Immanence and is not through Transcendental dissociative Experience and Transcendental detachment praxis. This Dzogchen self-liberation is not through dissociation and detachment or through the cessation of desire and cessation of human attachment as expressed in so many forms of Transcendental Practice. Self-liberation is not a function of disappearance. Self -Liberation through Disappearance is actually rather odd. Self- liberation through dissociation and detachment is very odd. Self- liberation through Patriarchal Domination is Profoundly Primitive and reflects what Hegel describes as the Master Slave relationship.
Phenomenological Dzogchen self-liberation is through the Experiential Immanence of Pure Being as Beingfullness informing all beings. This liberation through Beingfull Immanence is self-liberation through our direct experience of the actuality of Beingfullness and the actuality of Existence and the actuality of Phenomena. Liberation is an experience of Profound Actuality of Beingfullness. The Transcendental Path of the illusion of phenomena and the delusion of phenomena as self-liberation is itself the true delusion.
The Transcendental Illusion of the Actualness of Reality
The transcendental traditions perceive experiential reality as “as if” at best and at worst as illusion or delusion or an hallucination without an hallucinator. In the language of Dzogchen this is Ma Rigpa which means Ignorance, Ignorance of Being-fullness and the knowing of Being and Being-fullness.
In the Phenomenological Dzogchen tradition this philosophical Immanence is expressed by Longchenpa in his magnificent text On Genuine Meaning. As Namkai Norbu the great Contemporary Dzogchen Master would so often say before each teaching, Dzogchen does not belong to any tradition, does not belong to any Culture. Dzogchen reflects the Real Condition of our existence. He would also say Dzogchen is Galactic. Dzogchen is practiced in many galaxies. Dzogchen does not belong to Buddhism. Dzogchen does not belong to Tibetan Culture. Yes , Dzogchen is Galactic! Dzogchen is liberation within the sublime reality of Being and Beingfullness.
Experiential Understanding of Being and Beingfullness
This Experiential Understanding is expressed in Shavism by the 9th century Master Abinavagupta and the contemporary Shaivite Master Swami Muktananda. In existential psychoanalysis this phenomenological Immanence of Being and Beingfullness is expressed by R.D.Laing , Donald Winnicott , Harry Guntrip, Michael Eigen and many other Existential Psychoanalytic Phenomenological Thinkers and Existential Experiential Psychotherapist.
This immanence of Being and Beingfullness is taught by the French Symbolic Psychoanalyst Jacque Lacan. This phenomenological Immanence is taught by Maurice Merleau Ponty and Later Heidegger and so many other contemporary ontic ontological phenomenologist.
The Existential Ontic Ontological Path of Self Liberation
Our Ontological Whoness is our luminous lived experience of our ordinary life world as well as our imaginal archetypal symbolic reality dimension known within Dzogchen as the Sambogakaya Realm. By imaginal I do not mean imagination in the sense of having a fantasy of something from nothing. Rather imaginal means a way of experiencing, perceiving and knowing Being and the Energy of Being within an imaginal formulations of this Energetic Manifestations .Imaginal is an Imaginal way of seeing forms of Energy, seeing images of energy, imagoes of Beingfull Creative Diaphanous Beingfull Energy.
Henry Corbin and James Hillman elaborate this archetypal understanding and visionary perception of Energetic Beingfullness. This visionary perception of archetypal dimensions of Being is call imaginary seeing of Beingfull energy . Imaginary experience of the archetypal dimension is not the fantasy creation of visions out of nothingness, rather imaginary visions is our capacity to enter and perceive the archetypal energetic realm as symbolic forms and symbolic images.
Our ontological Whoness is simultaneously our existential dimension of Beingfull Source.Our Pure Beingfull Whoness as Primordial Awareness is the manifestation of primordial awareness as our own innermost awareness as our own Being and Beingfullness.
Human beings are both Ontic and Ontological beings!
Beingfull Non Conceptual Awareness was and is the Primordial Cosmological Source of Being as the Ground of Being. Primordial Being is Primordial Ontological Awareness, Primordial Being which is not a being is Being and Being is the source of Being fullness and the Being of all beings. Being as Source is the Ground of Being. Being is Pure Potentiality and Pure Being is Pure Creativity. Pure Being is Pure Consciousness. Pure Being is Pure Self manifestation of Beingfullness.
Pure Being is Pure Formless Awareness. Our Beingfull Awareness is our Beingfull Ontological Consciousness. Pure Ontological Being is the self manifestation of beings infinite in numbers and vast and multidimensional. Being in essence is the Power of Self -Manifestation.
Pure Beingfull Awareness is “ Galactic” to again use Namkai Norbu’s language. Ontological Awareness is infinite in its horizons , vast and multidimensional. Our own innermost personal awareness is infinite in its horizons and vast and multidimentional. Our own Beingfull awareness is infinite in its horizons, vast and multidimensional.
Longchenpa in the 14th century Ad would call this dimension of Ontological Beingfull Source as the Ground of Being. Our experience of the Ground of Being is our non -conceptual sense of Beingfull Whoness infinite in its horizons, vast and multidimensional. This Whoness in Dzogchen is mythologically personified as Samanta-Bhadra. The Archetypal Forces or Archetypal Energies or Ontological Forces are singular expressions of primordial ontological Beingfull Awareness as personified Whoness. This archetypal dimension was called Shambogakaya dimension. The dimension of source was called Dharmakaya or the Ground of Being.
The Phenomenological Face of Whoness
Our ordinary life world is the phenomenological face of Beingfull Whoness. The Symbolic Archetypal Realm is the phenomenological and experiential realm of our imaginal knowing through and within our sense of Beingfull Whoness.
We can experience the natural ontological Whoness of Ontological Archetypal Energies. These Archetypal Diaphanous Energies or Diaphaneous forces of Beingfullness are not Entities or forms of Entification.
What Longchenpa calls The Ground of Being is Pure infinite Whoness -Consciousness as Source. This Pure Whoness -Consciousness is the Pure Potential Space of Pure Creativity. Unceasingly Creativity and Unceasing self-manifestation of this Ground of Being is the infinite field of infinitely within unending numerous beings. Unbounded Whoness Consciousness is the unbounded Potential Space as Beingfull Openness Self-manifesting Being as beings. This universe is Personal, Profoundly Personal.
The Metabolization of Experience and the Experiential Events of Beingfullness
Within the Dzogchen foundational text of the All Creative Source, the translucent experiences of our ordinary life world can be metabolized and assimilated and deeply dissolved within our personal field of primordial awareness which is the Rigpa of our own Diaphanous Awareness. Rigpa is the direct knowing and the direct experiencing of Pure Being. Rigpa is the direct knowing and direct experiencing of the Pure Beingness of human beings. Rigpa is the direct knowing and direct experiencing of the Pure Being of Phenomenological Being of phenomenological ontological beings.
Rigpa Metabolizes, Primordial Awareness Metabolizes
Rigpa or Primordial Awareness metabolizes and dissolves and assimilates traumatic experiences. Rigpa or Primordial Awareness metabolizes and assimilates luminously beatific experience. This metabolization of various and infinite forms of experience is the great power of Rigpa. Rigpa is the great power of primordial awareness. Rigpa is the great power of primordial metabolization of the events of Being and Beingfullness of events.
The Vast Importance of The Power of Metabolization of Experience
The great Dzogchen Master Rongzom Zangpo of the 11th century emphasized the power of metabolization of primordial awareness to metabolize and digest and assimilate all experience both the beautiful and the traumatic and in doing so metabolization bring forth a greater and a fuller experience of Luminous Diaphanous Awareness and Diaphanous Beingfullness. Awareness metabolizes Traumatic Experience and Awareness metabolizes Beatific Experience. Moreover, awareness metabolizes structures of our mind such as concrete states of mind which are experiential ego states. Moreover, awareness metabolizes psychological structures such as our Superego State of Judgementalness and Dichotomous thinking.
Awareness metabolizes energetic forms of our concrete Instinctual Drivenness. These instinctual states are of Sexual Drivenness and of Aggressive Drivenness are manifestation of the Primordial life force. The instinctive sexual element and instinctive life force aggressive element is metabolized and we can digest both Beautiful experience and the Horrific experience. We transform the concretized instinctive elements into luminous Diaphanous Forms of Beingfull Energy.
The Luminous Intensity of Awareness metabolizes dynamic Psychological Structuring such as Instinctiveness with the Creative Destructive elements of Primordial Awareness. There is the luminous aggressive metabolizations of psychological ego state structures , as well as the metabolization of forms of Instinctive Drivenness bringing forth the Diaphaneous Luminous Experience of Embodied Energetic Beingfullness.
The forms of psychological structures become less thing like and less concretized entity like structures and become Luminous Diaphaneous Energetic forms of luminous experience and Diaphaneous Vital Life Force of Beingfullness. The instinctive forces becomes transformed from a physical dynamic concretized reified drivenness to the luminous Diaphanous Energtic Fields of Luminous Diaphanous Beingfullness and Luminoua Diaphanous Beingfull Life Force. Diaphanous is the luminous embodiment of Translucidity and Translucid Beingfull life field of Beingfull Awareness. Beingfullness is Consciousness. Consciousness is Beingfullness. Awareness is Consciousness. Consciousness is Awareness. Diaphanous is a word Padmashambava used in his Energetic Teachings.
Structural Ego States of Mind And The Structural Superego State of Mind
Primordial Awareness can metabolized the range of human experience. Primordial Awareness can metabolize and assimilate and transform the experiential structures of mind and the experiential structures of instinctive drivenness such as primitive sexuality and primitive aggression. The power of the metabolization of awareness is profoundly stronger then the power of the limited metabolization of our mind alone.
Our mind can metabolize our lived experience as experience. But our mind easily becomes saturated by the intensity and vastness of such lived experience. When our mind is saturated with traumatic experience ,our mind can no longer metabolize lived experience and the lived experience of the Events of Being and Beingfullness. The power of primordial awareness is the power of metabolization both of lived experience and even the metabolization of living structures of our mind. Awareness can metabolize trauma and traumatic experience. Primordial awareness can metabolize and assimilate ontic experience as well as ontological experience.
The Unfolding of Diaphanous Luminous Experience
Instinctive energies and instinctive drivenness can be transformed into Diaphanous Experience, Diaphanous Force and Diaphanous Energetic Power. Instinctive energies and instinctive drivenness can be transformed within Diaphanous Awareness, becoming Diaphanous Luminous Knowingness and Diaphanous Luminous Force. Diaphanous Instinctive Luminous Energy reflects this unfolding integration of Instinctive energies within our Diaphanous Luminous Awareness. This Ontological transformation actually strengthens our embodiment of the Diaphanous Beingfullness and Diaphanous Power of our Diaphanous form of Energy Embodied Awareness field. In Shaivite Tantra the Shakti is a Diaphanous Form of the Energy field .
Our dissociation of our Instinctive vital life force and our dissociation of Instinctive aggressive drivenness actually disembodies our Embodied Power of Beingfull Luminous Awareness. This Disembodiment of instinctive Desire and Disembodiment of instinctive life force weakens our sense of embodied luminous awareness both in time and in Timelessness Awareness.
Awareness metabolizes the concrete thingness of mind, awareness metabolizes the concrete thingness of instinctive drivenness, and the concrete thingness of ego states, and the concrete thingness of our superego structures, and the concrete thingness of ego states of mind and the concrete thingness of our various parts of mind.
Reification
Another word for concreteness is reification . There is the reification of instinct, the reification of sexual drivenness, the reification of primitive aggressiveness, the reification of ego states of mind, the reification of Super Ego Judgementalness into the forms of Reified Absoluteness.
We often relentlessly live within the embodiment of different concrete parts of mind and different concrete structures of mind and within concrete instinctive drives and concrete instinctive drivenness such as sexuality and aggression. These concretized “parts” are often forever in conflict with each other. The ID Superego conflict is an eternal exoteric example of never ending strife and conflict between concrete PARTS or CONCRETE STATES within our own Being. This is a concrete exoteric experiential view. As we enter into the awareness field and become the awareness field of Luminous Beingfullness we are entering into and become the Esoteric Realm of Lived luminous Experience.
Our own primordial awareness is our Non Conceptual Knowing Openness of Being and our own non conceptual awareness is the open knowing spaciousness of our own Being . Our own awareness is the Luminosity of Being and our own embodied awareness is the Diaphanous Vital Energy of Being manifesting as the Indestructible Life Force of Being and Beingfullness.
The Foundational Dzogchen text the” All Creative Source” invokes us to perceive through the eyes of our inner heart essence that which is also the luminous portal of our imaginal perceiving the Symbolic Diaphanous Archetypal Dimension of Beingness and Beingfullness.
Imaginal seeing or imaginal perceiving is the dimension of our awareness field that perceives the field of luminous energy as energetic forms, or as energetic imaginal Diaphanous Forms of Beingfullness. The Vibrational dimension of the Being Full Energy is perceived and experienced as Diaphanous forms of luminous Energetic Presence. Henry Corbin and James Hillman both write about this imaginal knowing of archetypal Beingfullness and archetypal luminous energies of Beingfullness.
The Experience of our ontological nature as the Diaphanous Ground of Being is self-liberation.To experience our own innermost awareness as the Diaphanous Ground of Being is Self-liberation. Longchenpa declares that where else could liberation take place other then within our own awareness, within our own Whoness, within our own Knowingness of awareness as Primordial Awareness, as Primordial Consciousness. The fundamental nature of the Ground of Being, the Ground of Beingfullness is directly, immediately and innately experienced within us as us. As the Shaivites declare God Dwells within you as You. And see God in Each Other.
The experience of the Ground of Being, the experience of Source is our innate luminous experience within us as our very Whoness. Whoness is not simply a psychological event rather Whoness is our Ontological Reality of our Open Beingfull Consciousness. Our Consciousness is our Beingfull Whonesss.
This dramatic experience of the Ground of Being self-manifesting Beingfullness is not the experience of otherness, but intrinsically , innately we experience Our Whoness as this innermost sense of Diaphanous Beingfull Consciousness as the fundamental nature of the Ground of Being. Our own Whoness is the Diaphanous Ground of Original Being. Our Whoness is Consciousness. Our own Consciousness is Being and Beingfullness. Our own consciousness is jnana and is gnosis and is Yeshe.
Kadig
Kadig means Purity. This Purity is not a transcendental dissociative state. This Purity reflects the experiential event of Beingful awareness experiencing Diaphanous Beingfullness within us as us. Dudjom Lingpa described Dzogchen as experiencing the illumination of the intrinsic Purity of Being and Purity of Beingfufllness within us and within the world. The experience of Purity is the experience of the Purity of Being and Beingfullness. Purity is not the experience of form and forms. Purity is the experience of the Pure Being and Pure Beingfullness of form and formlessness.
We experience the spontaneous Diaphanous Presence of Wisdom Gnosis appearing as this Ground of Being in the fullness of Purity. This is not an earned experience as described in the religious dramas of Spiritual Economics. This is not the dichotomous reward punishiment drama of doing right and doing wrong, being better and being best, being good and being evil, and this Purity of Beingfullness is even beyond the drama of truth and falsity.
This Diaphanous Presence is beyond Structural Super Ego Judgmentalness. Our Superego is a “ Part” as described both in psychoanalytic and gestalt experiential understanding. The Super Ego is also an internalized part of and within our Internalize Family System Psychology. We internalize our family system as this family system unfolds over time.
Our personal experiencing the nature of our Whoness as the Primordially Indwelling of Pure Beingfull Knowingness as Diaphanous Creative Generativity is self liberation. In this context Whoness is not simply a psychological experience but our Whoness is our Experiential Luminous Ontological Conscious as Primordial Knowingness. Whoness is the ontological manifestation of our Personal Consciousness Knowningness infinite in its horizons, vast and multidimensional.
There is Ontological Whoness and there is Psychological Iness. The Inness of mind and the Inness of Body! Most often we identify our sense of self with our Iness of Mind and our Inness of Body. This misidentification organized our experience of our natural existence in profound and conflictual ways.
This drama of self-liberation is not a drama of merit or the drama of earning good points for some Omnipotent Judgmental Entity or some would be Omnipotent Religious Institution or some would be omnipotent or omniscient grandiose Divine King like Personality. Most Consciousness traditions reflect some belief in an omnipotent and omniscience Patriarchal Judgmental Entity Personified. The Patriarchal Leader is perceived as having Absolute Knowingness. Of course as Hegel describes in his Phenomenology of Spirit, when you create or discover the person or entity who has Absolute Knowledge then you will naturally fall into the Master Slave relationship with that person or entity. Most if not all religious or spiritual traditions have some form of the horrific Union of Spirituality and Royalty. Equality Consciousness destroys and deconstructs this Patriarchal Union of Spirituality and Royalty.
Self-Liberation
We experience our Whoness as the experience of Spontaneous Wisdom Knowingness indwelling as the spontaneous presence of the Ground of Being as Being. Longhcenpa suggest that self -liberation is not going to be experienced or accomplished in any other place other then within our own Innermost Whoness as Primordial Spontaneous Beingfull Presence manifesting as us , within us. This Beingfull Luminous Presence is Primordial Consciousness or Primordial Awareness. This Primordial Knowingness is not Omniscience or Omnipotence. The Primordial Knowingness is our direct experiential knowingness of Being and the Beingfull of our Being and the Being of others and the Being of all phenomena. Our embodied experience of Being and Beingfullness is self-liberation.
This Beingfull Whoness Consciousness abides within our innermost heart essence. This heart essence is the experience of the innermost space of Consciousness as our ontological source that is both Source and the manifestation of Source. This manifestation is the luminous experience of Beingfullness in the unending continuity of Being and Beingfullness. This is our ongoing indestructible luminous experience of the Beingfullness of Being.
Timeless Awareness In Time
Phenomenological Dzogchen in essence is the profound experience of Timeless Awareness in time and the experience within Timeless Awareness of our Being as “unborn and undying”. This direct luminous experience dissolves Ontological Anxiety of Annihilation. This direct experience of Deathless Awareness or Timeless Awareness dissolves our fear of death and dissolves our terror of ontological annihilation. Our experience of our heart as our Awareness as innermost essence is the experience of profound innate Luminous Diaphanous Openness and innate Diaphanous luminosity of our vast unbound spaceousness of our Beingfullness. Our Heart essence is our Innate luminous Spaceous Openness Beingfull Awareness, Beingfull Consciousness.
Timeless Awareness within Time
This experience of Spaceousness is unbound and unending and ever unfolding and this Spaceousness is TIMELESS AWARENESS. This Timeless Awareness is found in us as us as Luminous Whoness .This Heart Essence of Timeless Awareness Spaceousness is Pure Diaphanous Gnosis, Pure Direct Non Conceptual Knowingness. Our innermost knowingness knows our Innate Awareness as our Diaphanous Beingfull Self.
The ongoing continuous experience of Timeless Awareness in time is the Essence of Dzogchen Praxis. This experience is the unfolding experience of Beingfull Timeless Awareness within Time. This experience is called Sangwa Yeshe. Sangwa Yeshe is the archetypal expression of Timeless Awareness as the Dakini of Timeless Awareness.
Diaphanous Energy and Diaphanous Luminousity
This Gnosis , this Spaceousness luminous Knowingness is both Diaphanous Energy and Diaphanous Light .This luminous Diaphanous Gnosis , this Diaphanous knowingness is embodied in the flesh of and within the Cave of the Heart. This luminous knowingness is our Intimate Whoness. Our Whoness is not a thing or even a form. Our Whoness is our intimate Knowingness as the Ground of Being itself manifesting as us. Our Whoness is formless and our Whoness is the power of self-manifestation. Our ontological Whoness is embodied in our human form, and as our human embodiment of luminous Being and Beingfullness.
Our innermost Whoness has always been Ontological Whoness . Primordial Whoness manifest Primordial Whoness within everyone as their own innate innermost direct Beingfull Knowingness. Our Direct Non -Conceptual Knowingness is Gnosis, is Jnana and is Yeshe. Our direct knowingness or Gnosis or Jnana or Yeshe is our Profoundly Personal Ontological Beingfull Whoness,
Our mind (sems) thinks and really thinks that our mind is the base of self. Our mind(sems) thinks really thinks that our mind is source and our mind thinks you and I are our minds alone. We may even think that we are only our mind. This is our most basic human experience of Ontological Dissociation. We become located in mind (sems)alone and dissociate from our sense of Beingness , our sense of Beingfull Whoness, our sense of Beingfull Awareness(Semde).
Our mind relates to other minds as a self. One mind meets another minds and our mind thinks that the other mind is Whoness. This is the fundamental mis- recognition. This mis-recognition takes place within our lived experience and this mis-recognition dominates our experience of others. In doing this we lose the luminous Beingfullness of human experience. We experience the intimacy of our Beingfullness when entering directly into the Beingfullness of the other.
This luminous consciousness Whoness (semde)is often buried and embodied in the flesh of the Cave of the Heart. There is an I NESS OF The mind. This Iness of our mind is our self-conception as mind alone. My thoughts, my feelings, my fantasy, my love and my hate I experience as my mind (sems)as my essential self. We think we are the Super Ego. My Superego Judgementalness is a powerfull Ego State within myself. My instincts are states within myself. These various states can contain or lack the profound experience of Luminous Pervasive Beingfullness Whoness. In our identification as mind alone, we Lacks the profound experience of our Whoness as our Direct Knowingness, as our luminous Beingfulness, as our Innate Primordial Consciousness , as our innate luminous Awareness As Direct Non Conceptual Knowingness.
Luminous Flesh
Our flesh As Merleau -Ponty describes in a very subtle way that our embodiment is actually embodied light and our embodiment of light becomes flesh. The light of awareness, the light of Whoness is at times contained and hidden in the flesh and hidden within the innermost heart essence. The Ground of Beingfullness is this nucleus of radiant light within our heart. This awareness is the ground of Being manifesting as the space of our human heart. This essence is primordial Purity. This essence is of Pure Spaceousness, Pure luminous Knowingness. This pure essence is formlessness Beingfullness.This untouched purity can be felt and even easily known. You and I are embodied formlessness in relational forms.
Understanding and the Metabolization of The Super Ego State
The Structural SUPER EGO STATE reflects our Internalized Sense of Absolute Judgmentalness. The Super Ego Structure of The Mind reflects the Judgmental Structuring of Human Experience and Perception into dichotomous thinking and dichotomous understanding. This thinking is locked into the dichotomy of concrete right and wrong, concrete good and evil,concrete better and best and concrete truth or falsity. We internalize this structuring from within our internalized family system and from our internalization of our cultural psychology and our internalization of cultural and religious teachings, and our concrete internalization of life experience and our internalization of the affective states of others.
The Superego Ego State Structure is an internalized structure of our mind reflecting our internalization of Parental Judgement and Cultural Judgement and Religious Judgement about right and wrong, good and evil, better and best and truth and falsity.
Non Conceptual and PreReflective Structure
There is also an early non conceptual prereflective structure of this Judgmentalness that is more or less non conceptual. This is called pre oedipal experience which is actually preconceptual experience. This experience is more of a non-conceptual felt sense of goodness or badness, a felt sense of rightness or wrongness, even a felt sense of existing or non-existing, a felt sense of being loved or being hated. There is little conceptual memory story narrative that contextualizes this non conceptual felt sense of goodness or badness, rightness or wrongness, goodness or evilness, presence or absence.
This minimalistic narrative memory reflects the early preconceptual dimension of early infanthood and childhood. We internalize these affective states of our parents and family members. We internalized the sense of the affective judgmental states that our parents and others have in regard to us and each other. We internalized their attunement and the lack of attunement to the internalized Judgementalness that people are always preoccupied within. We Internalized Others resonance and their lack of resonance to us as infants and young children.
This is an early formulation of pre- conceptual felt experience that is pre-reflective. This is the pre-reflective ground of our own Being and our own Beingfullness or our lack of Beingfullness which is Emptiness or Absence.
There may be very little imaginal or language formulation of these early events of memory. This may be a profound and basic non conceptual nonverbal sense of badness, a non-conceptual sense of worthlessness, a non-conceptual sense of disgustingness, and even a non-conceptual sense of non existingness or non-conceptual sense of Empty Nothingness. Or this early non- conceptual experience could be a sense of profound goodness, profound lovableness, profound beautifulness, profound fondness, profonde safetyness, sublime well Being, profound Beatificness.
Reflection and Conceptualization
We internalized the reflective judgements and conceptual judgments and the symbolic judgements of our parents and others have about us. We internalized them as Judgmental Voices within our minds. We consistently will judge ourselves and evaluate ourselves as we were judged and evaluated by Parental Authority. We form Images and Conceptualizations of our sense of self and within our Superego structure we are relentlessly Judgmental about ourselves and others.
This internalized judgmental structure is not the wonderful power of our direct perception and our direct knowing the ethos of a situation or character of context. The superego structure of mind can dominate and foreclose our awareness and our direct perception of phenomena. This creates Ma Rigpa or our ignorance of our own Beingfullness and the Beingfullness of others.
Our liberating context of luminous Diaphanous Awareness knows the Beingfullness of experience and the Beingfullness of phenomena. Luminous Awareness moreover has the power of metabolization of our lived experience and even the power of the metabolization our pre -conceptual prereflective experience. Awareness can metabolize and dissolve traumatic personal experience. Mind alone has limited metabolization power. The mind becomes easily saturated by traumatic saturating experience. Embodied non conceptual luminous spaceous energetic awareness is the power of metabolization that is luminous, energetic , and of Beingfull Luminous Intensity.
Metabolization digest, deconstructs and assimilates lived experience. Metabolization transforms the lived experience of the events of Being into luminous Diaphanous Energy .This luminous Diaphanous Energetic experience further metabolizes psychological structures such as our superego structure and metabolizes the instinctive energies, and metabolizes concretized states of mind into luminous Diaphanous innermost fields of Beingfullness and Beingfull Diaphanous Energy.
This energetic transformation transforms our dense concretized psychological structures into luminous Diaphanous Translucidness. This luminous embodied translucidness of primordial awareness transforms dense psychological structures in diaphanous energetic fields of Beingfullness and transforms instinctive energies into becoming our embodiment of the Luminous Force of Diaphanous light. Our flesh becomes the embodiment of Diaphanous Light. There is a dedensification of concretized experience and concretized behavioral action. There is a transformation of focus into the energetic dimension of translucid diaphanous experience and translucid diaphanous energetic action.
Metabolization digest , deconstructs internalized concretized states of experience. Metabolization can digest and transform sexual instinctive drivenness and the concretized manifestation aggressive instinctive drivenness. Awareness can metabolize the concrete density of the drivenness of instinctive sexual drivenness and bring forth the luminous Diaphanous manifestation of instinctive erotic luminous fluidity of diaphanous experience. Diaphanous is a word used by Padmashambava in describing the transformation of human instinctive drivenness whether sexual or aggressive. Padmashambhava would call this transformation of instinctiveness Prajna.Prajna means Knowingness As Luminous Energy.
Our Integration of lived experience and our Metabolization of lived experience both the beautiful and the horrible is the Experiential Method for the bringing forth the luminous energetic dimension of lived experience into our sense of embodied luminous Diaphanous experience. Dissociation and Detachment and experiential distantiation is not Method In Phenomenological Dzogchen. Dissociation, Detachment and Distantiation is method in Buddhist Meditation and other forms of Transcendental Meditation.
The Integration and Metabolization of Our Structural Super Ego State
The Integration and metabolization of our States of Mind , the integration and metabolization of sexual and aggressive Instincts into our luminous translucid field of diaphanous fluid energetic awareness is the profound experiential method of metabolization. This luminous metabolization results in the diaphanous transformation of primitive energies and physical drivenness and physical discharge. Through such luminous metabolization we become the Embodied Diaphanous Living Experience of light, Radiance and Somatic Luminousity.
Diaphanous Manifestation
The Concretized Stimulus Discharge and the biological physical stimulus response organization can be energetically transformed in to Diaphanous luminous Beingfull force and Creative Diaphaneous field of luminous Fluid Liquidity of Beingfull Energy. The Khechari Mudra is also an expression of this luminous liquid like Energtic Transformation.
The Integration of Mind within Our Awareness Field
It is most important and completely necessary to integrate our mind within our field of luminous awareness, and to integrate our mind within our Beingfull Awareness. In this way we will know within our awareness the direct experience of Phenomena and the Luminous Beingfullness of the Phenomena. And our awareness will integrate the various metabolization of various mind functions so that the various mind functions and mind parts will not be so disparate and will not be so dissociated from our lived experience , the lived experience of luminous Primordial Diaphanous Field of Direct Experiential Knowningness.
This integration will minimize disparate functions not being synthetic in both our understanding and our action. Moreover, our awareness personalizes these mentalistic functions and they become infused with Gnosis. Gnosis means Luminous Direct Perception, Luminous Direct Knowingness. Becoming infused with Luminous Gnosis illuminates both the structures of mind and structures of instinctual drivenness. The results in a Diaphanous experience of mind and the Diaphanous structures of mind as well as the Diaphanous experience of instinctive drivenness. Our lived state of Being becomes a Diaphanous Sphere of Luminous Experience and luminous Diaphanous action.
The Super Ego State
Our Superego is an Ego State which is the Internalized Symbolic Patriarchal State of Absolute Judgmentalness and Absolute Narcissistic Grandiosity. Ego States are states of mind. Ego states are Psychological Parts or States of our mind and are conflictive Concretized Parts within our mind.
This internalized structure of our historical family system is foundationally powerful in organizing our experience of ourselves and our experience of the world. The Superego Structure is an internalization of Parental Judgmental and Generational experience of right and wrong, good and evil, better and best and truth and falsity. This concretized internalized judgmental system hides and distorts the perception of our living pure awareness and our direct knowingness of phenomena and the Being fullness of phenomena.
Moreover, most people think that their sense of self is their sense of their Superego State. They equate and identify their sense of self with their Absolute Judgmental Mind as the Structural Superego Function.
The greatest limitation of the Superego Structure is that it forecloses the direct perception of Being awareness or gnosis or jnana or yeshe which is our direct perception of the phenomenological form of others and our direct perception of Being of others as well as the Being of the world. The Superego structure distorts our awareness, distorts the gnosis.
The Power Of Luminous Awareness As The Power of Experiential Metabolization.
The power of awareness is the power of metabolization. The luminous Energetic field of awareness , the Prajna (energy)of awareness can metabolize events of Beingfullness . The intense luminous energy of awareness can metabolize our live experience of phenomena and the intense luminous energy of awareness can metabolized mind structures such as our internalized superego. The Power of Awareness can metabolized our instinctively driven experience such as sexual drivenness and the drivenness of aggression. The power of awareness can metabolized the experience of the unfolding Events of Beingfullness.
The esoteric power of awareness can metabolized psychological experience and can metabolize the structures of experience into Diaphaneous structuring of lived experience.The Esoteric Power of primordial awareness metabolizes lived experience of unfolding life events and the power of awareness metabolizes the structures of experience into Diaphaneous Spheres of Beingfulllness.
Diaphanous Spheres of Beingfullness
This Diaphaneous Metabolization into Diaphaneous streams of experience and Diaphanous spheres of experience brings forth our esoteric embodiment of Diaphanous Luminousity. This innermost luminousity is Diaphanous manifestation of embodied spheres and states of embodied Diaphanous luminousity. This experience becomes the Diaphanous manifestation of our luminous embodiment as the luminous Sphera of Light.
A person may live within this esoteric Diaphanous experience of Beingfullness and Being full awareness life after life and death after death.
Ego States of Mind and the Primordial Field of Awareness
We Internalized our family system and the different positions in the family system becomes different parts or states of our mind. We can metabolized our different and diverse states of mind by bringing these ego states into our primordial field of awareness. These different states of mind or different parts of mind may be in opposition with each other. The primordial field of awareness not only dissolves and metabolizes different states of mind, but the field of awareness can hold and contain these different states of mind or hold these different parts of mind simultaneously within the non-dualistic field of Beingfullness. This metabolizes the concrete thingness of different states of mind.
Our psychological different parts can be infused and illuminated through and by our Diaphanous Field of Illuminous Awareness. The Beingfullness of the two different states of mind or two different parts can be assimilated within the field of awareness and their univocity as Beingfullness can bring forth the experience of our ego states becoming Diaphaneous forms of experience or Diaphanous States of Experience.
Diaphanous awareness transforms the difference parts of mind or different ego states of mind into Diaphaneous spheres of experience which are fluid and mutable. This is a form of liberation from the density of Mind, and the historical concrete density of mind.
INSTINCTIVE Physical Energy is Metabolized And Transformed into Diaphanous Experiential Fluid Energetic Diaphanous Life Force.
Instinctive Drivenness
The metabolization of our instinctive life force vital energy actually strengthens and facilitates our embodiment of the field of primordial awareness. The primordial embodied instinctive life force energies are contained and transformed into Diaphanous Spheres of Luminous Energy within our Embodied field of Awareness. This transformation strengthens our field of luminous awareness wherein we no longer will internalize the affective states of others nor even will we internalize environmental conditions and context. We can have less intrusive psychological force intruding on our lived experience of and within our Beingfull Self of Beingfull Awareness. We internalize less the affective states of others and collective affective states of the world itself. This is a form of true self-liberation.
The instinctive energies of our vital life force including eros and instinctive energies of destructiveness become metabolized and bring forth Vital luminousity, and inner most Energetic Bondedness and luminous Inner-Somatic support for our living embodiment of Beingfull Awareness and the luminous Creative Force of the Beingfull Diaphanous Awareness Field of Beingfullness.
The embodiment of our body and the embodiment of our mind within the field of our Primordial Awareness is absolutely necessary for a manifestation of the mysterious union of our mind and our body within the dimension of luminous primordial Diaphanous Awareness. Another way of stating this experience is that we become the embodiment of the Sphera of Light embodying us as Diaphanous Luminousity. Diaphanous Luminousity reflects the Translucidity of Our luminous Beingfull Experience and our ongoing continuity of luminous Beingfullness . This unfolding event is the unfolding event of luminous self-liberation through the embodiment of Diaphanous Sphera of Luminous Energy.
In Summary, this paper elaborates how Primordial Awareness metabolizes our living experiences and how Primordial Awareness metabolizes our traumatic experience, metabolizes the structures of our concretized states of mind called ego states, how metabolizes the power our Super Ego State which is our absolute concretized judgmental preoccupation of right and wrong, good and evil , better and best and even truth and falsity. The power of luminous primordial Diaphanous Awareness metabolizes our instinctive drivenness such as the vital life form of sexual instinctiveness and the vital life form of our instinctiveness of aggression and destruction . These concretized physical instinctive drives can be transformed into Diaphanous Fields of Creative Luminous Creative Energy.
As Primordial Awareness metabolizes these various states of experience and experiencing, there arises from this Creative Luminous Intensity Diaphanous Fields of Being and luminous Diaphanous Beingfullness. This transformative experience moves us from an exoteric concrete framing of experience into the esoteric framing of experience. This transformation into esoteric experience is also the transformation of our living experience into our lived experience of Profound Luminous IMMANENCE of Being and Beingfullness.
The Luminous Experience of the Unfolding of Beingfullness within the realm of Immanence Is profoundly luminous and is the profoundly liquid like realm of Beingfullness and the ontological drama of luminous self-manifestation of Being and Beingfullness within the experience of Non Duality of Beingfullness within the Duality of Forms. This is the Dzogchen Drama of Self-Liberation in our life just as we are.
This is the “fun” path of self liberation, just as we are. This is the Fun of Self Manifestation.
